Hey everyone! I'm building a long-term PC and trying to catch up on new hardware since my last build in 2019. I typically only upgrade components like RAM and SSD, planning to change my PC every two generations (for example, if I choose a 5070 now, I'll skip the 60 series and go for the 70 next time). I don't care much about ray tracing and mostly play games that aren't AAA titles, except for the recent Borderlands 4. My current setup looks like this:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D (I've heard the 9700X is a solid option, being a recent release that might be better for future CPUs and could work better with faster RAM.)
- GPU: Either RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC/Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC SFF or the 9070XT HellHound (the cheapest ones available). I'm unsure which to choose depending on the games I play.
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B650 PLUS WIFI
- RAM: DDR5 Crucial 4800MHz CAS40 2x32GB
- Cooler: Ideally, I'd like the Peerless Assassin, but it's out of stock. Any suggestions for alternatives? If not, I can wait for it.
- Storage: SSD M.2 Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2TB + Kingston NV3 500GB for Windows.
- PSU: MSI MAG A850PGL PCIE5 850W
- Case: Lian Li Lancool 216 RGB
Thanks for any advice!
