I received two emails today from [email protected]. The first one claimed that I authorized a repair, and the second was a receipt for supposedly swapping out my old iPhone 15 Pro Max under AppleCare. The odd part is that while the emails used my name and email, the payment came from a different debit card, and the receipt contains a signature that isn't mine. I chatted with Apple support, but only interacted with their AI, which advised me not to worry if the iPhone doesn't show up in my account or if I don't notice any suspicious activity, and suggested that I report the emails to [email protected]. I'm confused—could this be a glitch, a mistake on Apple's part, or something more sinister? Should I report this situation somewhere else?

Have you ever owned that iPhone 15 Pro Max? Sometimes, if you ordered one but didn’t receive it or exchanged it, things can get mixed up. Check your Apple subscriptions to see if there’s any AC+ subscription linked to that serial number; they might be hiding in a shell account until associated with your actual Apple account. Also, take a look at any credit or debit transactions just to be safe.
Glad you're checking! Systems can get a bit glitchy during new launches, so it’s definitely worth a visit to see what they say.
It sounds like a typo in the email could be at play here. With email notifications, there’s usually no strict verification, so sometimes people enter incorrect details. But it’s still worth looking into more seriously just in case!
Thanks for the insight! That definitely seems like a possibility. I was wondering if entering an email might accidentally pull up customer info.
You should definitely investigate this further! If someone has forged your signature, that's pretty serious and could be fraud. I'd take it directly to Apple as soon as you can—don't let it slide!
Thanks for the advice! I already have an appointment for another issue, so I’ll see if they can look into this as well. Just worried it might be some mix-up.

I actually do have a 15 Pro Max that I’ve had since launch, but it’s never been in for repair. I’ll check my subscriptions. My email doesn’t have my name in it, but I guess anything is possible! I have an appointment with Apple next week, so I’ll bring these emails and ask them directly.
