Got Emails About an iPhone Repair I Didn’t Authorize—What Should I Do?

I received two emails today from [email protected]. The first one claimed that I authorized a repair, and the second was a receipt for supposedly swapping out my old iPhone 15 Pro Max under AppleCare. The odd part is that while the emails used my name and email, the payment came from a different debit card, and the receipt contains a signature that isn't mine. I chatted with Apple support, but only interacted with their AI, which advised me not to worry if the iPhone doesn't show up in my account or if I don't notice any suspicious activity, and suggested that I report the emails to [email protected]. I'm confused—could this be a glitch, a mistake on Apple's part, or something more sinister? Should I report this situation somewhere else?

It sounds like a typo in the email could be at play here. With email notifications, there’s usually no strict verification, so sometimes people enter incorrect details. But it’s still worth looking into more seriously just in case!

Thanks for the insight! That definitely seems like a possibility. I was wondering if entering an email might accidentally pull up customer info.

You should definitely investigate this further! If someone has forged your signature, that's pretty serious and could be fraud. I'd take it directly to Apple as soon as you can—don't let it slide!

Thanks for the advice! I already have an appointment for another issue, so I’ll see if they can look into this as well. Just worried it might be some mix-up.
