Hey everyone! I'm building a gaming PC and trying to figure out what monitor to get. I'm torn between going for a 1440p or 4K display. I'll primarily be playing games like Assassin's Creed and Civilization. Here are my PC specs if that helps with your suggestions:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core
- CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX
- Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB DDR5-6000
- Storage: Western Digital WD_Black SN850X 2 TB NVME SSD
- Video Card: Asus PRIME OC GeForce RTX 5070 12 GB
- Case: Fractal Design Pop Air RGB ATX Mid Tower
- Power Supply: ADATA XPG Core Reactor II 850 W
Any recommendations would be super helpful!

I’d say stick with 1440p for gaming. I have a Samsung VA panel and it’s been great. Try to visit a store and check different types like IPS, VA, or OLED before you buy.
Honestly, at 32" or smaller, I can’t really tell much difference between 1440p and 4K. Go for what fits your budget and gaming style!
I recommend 1440p as well! Filter for IPS, 27 inches with >=165Hz on PCPartPicker. You’ll find some great options. Reviews can help too!
Definitely! Filtering by those specs really narrows it down to some top-notch choices.
For gaming and binge-watching, 1440p is the way to go. Aim for a 27-inch screen and at least 144Hz. If you’re watching a lot of movies or gaming, OLED is stunning, but for text-heavy tasks, an IPS panel might be better.
With your specs, I’d definitely go for a 1440p setup. A 27-inch screen with at least 165Hz refresh rate would really enhance your gaming experience. Plus, look into an OLED if your budget allows—totally worth it!
Thanks for the tips! I’ll check that out.
