Why Does My PC Randomly Shut Down When Gaming?

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a really annoying issue where my PC just shuts down without warning (no blue screen or anything, just total power loss) when I try to play certain games. This never happens when I'm just browsing or even stress testing the CPU. Here are my specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE (BIOS F20h)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4 (I've tested different RAM sticks but the issue persists)
- PSU: Corsair CX650W (only 4 months old)
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (latest build)

I've already checked a lot, like CPU temperatures (max ~81°C under stress test) and GPU idle temp (~41°C). I did a 15+ minute OCCT CPU stress test without any shutdowns. I even tried undervolting the GPU, swapped RAM sticks, and double-checked all power connections. I'm planning to do a clean reinstall of the GPU drivers using DDU soon.

My questions are:
1. Could the CX650W PSU really be the issue even if it's new?
2. Might this be related to the BIOS version or XMP instability?
3. What other tests should I run before I start replacing parts?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Random shutdowns are often related to power issues or overheating. Make sure your RAM is properly seated and try running a memory diagnostic if you haven’t already. Sometimes faulty RAM can cause problems without showing visible errors. It’s a good idea to check in on those temperatures too!

Yeah, a PSU could definitely be the culprit! Even though your Corsair CX650W is relatively new, it's still possible it might not be supplying enough power under load, especially while gaming. It might be worth checking the PSU specs against your GPU's power requirements. Some users have reported similar issues where the PSU was the hidden problem even if it seemed fine at first glance.

If you're still getting shutdowns, definitely check Windows Event Viewer for any logged errors that might give a clue. Power-related issues often create logs that can help pinpoint what’s happening. Don't forget to check your driver versions, too; sometimes outdated drivers can lead to instability.

You might want to run a tool like Specify to get more insight into your system. It compiles data and can help us understand what’s going on. Just follow the instructions to run it, and share the link it gives you! That information will be super helpful.
