I recently bought a GTX 1050 online, and while it's generally working well, I'm experiencing some frustrating choppy performance and lag due to bottlenecking. Currently, I have a Ryzen 3 3200G, but I'm looking to upgrade my CPU. I'm considering either the Ryzen 5 5500 or the Ryzen 5 5600, but I'm uncertain about their performance. My budget is around £120 to £140, and my motherboard is an A520M-K-V2, which makes me wonder if other generations would be compatible as well.

The difference between the Ryzen 5500 and 5600 is about 20% in CPU-heavy usage. It really depends on how much that performance matters to you. Personally, I’d suggest going for either the 3600 or 5500 based on which is cheaper. That way, you can save some cash for a GPU upgrade later!
Honestly, the GTX 1050 is pretty outdated now and doesn’t hold up against newer GPUs. If you can, consider returning it and investing in at least an RTX 3060 Ti for a better experience. But I get that not everyone has the budget for that.

Seriously, telling someone to just spend more money is ridiculous. If I had the cash, I’d definitely go for a top-tier GPU too!
