Should I Choose a 9800X3D or a 7600X for My CS2 PC Build?

Hey everyone! I'm putting together a PC specifically for playing CS2 at 1440p. I've heard a lot about how great the 9800X3D CPU is for gaming, but I came across some benchmarks on YouTube that show there's only a small FPS difference between the 9800X3D and the 7600X when running at 1440p. I'm debating whether to invest in the 9800X3D or if the 7600X or even the 9600X would be sufficient for my needs. Just to clarify, I can't play in 1280x960, so that's not an option for me. Here are the builds I'm considering:
- 9800X3D with a 9060 XT
- 7600X with a 9070 XT
I'm looking forward to your advice! Thanks!

Honestly, going with the 7600X and a 5070 Ti would be a solid combo! Just keep in mind the 5070 Ti is about $1,089 CAD, but the 9070 XT is around 899 CAD. Living in Canada, the pricing is a crucial factor to consider.

Yeah, the pricing definitely plays a big role! Thanks for the heads-up!

What about the pricing? Can you give me a comparison for the 7800X3D with the 5070? Seems like a solid option too!

For sure! The 7600X bundle is around 499 CAD, while the 7800X3D bundle goes for about 750 CAD. For the RTX 5070, I found the cheapest at 768 CAD, and the 9070 XT is priced at 899 CAD.

I’d recommend going for the 9600X paired with either the 5070 or the 9070. Like you mentioned, the FPS difference between the 9800X3D and the 7600X isn't really significant with those GPUs. The 9070 or 5070Ti might be a bit over-the-top just for CS2, so the 9600X is really a better value for your setup. Also, the 9600X outperforms the 7700X slightly, just so you know! 👍
