I just landed a job, and I'm finally ready to upgrade my PC! Currently, I game at 1080p and want to maintain 60 fps on high settings (except for resolution). Right now, Cyberpunk runs at about 60 fps on high, but drops during intense moments. I'm not an expert since I bought a prebuilt unit, so I'm wondering what components I should focus on upgrading first. Here are my current specs:
- PSU: Be Quiet! System Power 10 650W
- Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO
- Fans: Endorfy Spartan 5 Max
- RAM: 32GB Kingston Fury Beast PC3200
- Storage: 1TB Kingston NVMe SSD
- GPU: ZOTAC RTX 3070Ti 8GB
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
I've been considering upgrading my GPU to an ASUS RX 9070 XT OC, upgrading the PSU, and later, the CPU to Ryzen 7 7800X3D, together with a new motherboard and RAM. That would cost around 1360 euros over 5 months. What do you think?

Honestly, your current build is great for 1080p at 60 fps. If you're just trying to push for ultra settings or higher fps, starting with a better GPU makes sense. Just remember that an 8GB GPU might struggle as games become more demanding, so you might want to keep that in mind for the future.
If you plan to upgrade, definitely prioritize your GPU first. The CPU is good enough right now but may bottleneck in the future, especially if you decide to go AM5. The GPU swap will give you a noticeable performance increase, and then you can gradually sort out the CPU and motherboard upgrades later. Don't worry too much about being 'bottlenecked'—it's all part of the upgrade path!
Yeah, I think starting with the GPU sounds best. Thanks!
I’d recommend starting with your GPU. The RX 9070 XT OC is a solid choice that will give you the biggest performance boost, especially if you're looking for high settings at 1080p. Once you’ve got that in place, consider upgrading to a Ryzen 7, but make sure to switch the motherboard and RAM at the same time if you want to fully future-proof your system. You don’t want to spend too much on the AM4 platform since it’s phasing out soon!
Thanks for the advice! Should I wait on the CPU upgrade then?

I’m aiming for 60 fps on ultra, so I can’t settle for less anymore!
