Issues with Creating Mailboxes in Microsoft 365?

Is anyone else experiencing trouble creating mailboxes in Microsoft 365? I set up a user account a few hours ago, but when I returned to check, it still shows "We are preparing a mailbox for the user." I can see the account in Azure, which indicates that it was created, but it's not appearing in Exchange. I used the Microsoft Business Standard license for this account.

I’m in the EU, and I’m seeing the same thing. Users are created and licensed in EntraID, but their mailboxes aren’t showing up in Exchange Online. Really frustrating!

Right? It drives me nuts too!

There’s actually an advisory out (EX1157370) regarding this issue. Some admins are currently unable to provision new mailboxes in Exchange Online. It seems like they're reviewing the situation to find a fix, but it's affecting quite a few users right now. You can check the service health for updates!

I heard they reverted a config change, so that might be causing the delays. It just hit our tenant a little while ago!

This kind of delay happens sometimes, but usually it’s quick. Right now, though, it seems like there’s an ongoing outage affecting many. It’s not just a normal wait time.

True, normally there’s just a minor delay, but waiting this long isn’t usual!
