I just got my iPhone 17 on Friday, and the battery life is really disappointing. It dropped by 30% with only one hour of screen time, and it seems to drain about 1% every 7 minutes. This is pretty odd for a brand new phone, right? I know there might be some initial indexing happening, but I've already synced everything iCloud-related, and I've turned off background app refresh for all apps. Honestly, my old iPhone 13 still has battery life that's comparable, if not better, than my new 17. I've heard that others are facing similar issues with their new iPhone 17s. I know these phones are supposed to last a day and a half, but I've read the first batch might have some problems. Any suggestions?

I totally get your frustration. I’m having the same problem with my iPhone 17, and honestly, my old iPhone 13 Pro Max with a 75% battery health outperformed it. I have a couple of weeks to decide if I’m keeping it or sending it back, so I hope things get better soon!
It's pretty common for new iPhones to have battery issues in the first few days. They're usually busy indexing and syncing everything. Give it about a week to settle down, and you might see some improvement in the battery life.

I’m in the same boat! My base iPhone 13 has been performing better than my new iPhone 17. Only a few hours of light usage and the battery drops significantly. I'm really considering returning it, too.
