Should I Focus on Full-Stack Right Away or Land a Front-End Job First?

I've been diving into React and I'm eager to expand my skills into other front-end technologies. I have a goal of becoming a Full-Stack developer, likely with Express.js or Java using Spring. My question is whether I should start learning back-end development now or try to get a job as a front-end developer first. I have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bootstrap, Tailwind, and React. Currently, I'm building a web app for a local shop, which I hope to showcase in my portfolio. I'm 21, self-taught, and feeling a bit anxious about finding a job. Another option I'm considering is freelancing and working on my own projects. Any advice?

I've heard Next.js is awesome! But can it really handle back-end functionalities? My understanding was that it’s mainly focused on the front end.

Don't get too wrapped up in job titles. If your web app needs a back-end, just go ahead and create one! Focus more on solving problems rather than stressing about your career path. Keep pushing through your current project, and you’ll learn a lot along the way.

Have you looked into Next.js? It could be a great next step after React for you.
