I just upgraded my PC and realized I need a new power supply unit (PSU). I'm using a Lian Li case, and my motherboard only has one USB 2.0 port, which is quite annoying. I've been looking at the Lian Li Edge 850W 80+ Platinum PSU because it seems reasonably priced. However, I'm considering upgrading to a better GPU in the near future and I'm wondering if 850W will be enough for a more powerful GPU, or should I aim for a 1000W PSU for better future-proofing? If I could afford it, I'd definitely go for a higher wattage, but it's more expensive where I live.

It really depends on the GPU you're planning to get. If you're thinking about anything above a 5070 Ti, like a 5080 or 5090, I'd suggest going for a 1000W PSU to keep things future-proof. If you expect to stick with lower-tier GPUs, then 850W should serve you just fine even with high-end CPUs.

I can't afford those top-tier cards either! I'm leaning towards the 5070 or 5070 Ti, or maybe one of the upcoming super variants. I don't upgrade my parts often, so I'm worried about feeling regret if I choose the 850W and end up needing more.
