Why Can’t I Switch My Dual Res Monitor to 1080p?

I'm having a problem with my dual resolution monitor. I can use 4k without any issues, but whenever I try to switch to 1080p, it gives me a message saying there's no HDMI signal from the device. I've checked and all my drivers are updated. Any ideas on what's going wrong?

Have you tried restarting your PC? Sometimes that can work wonders. Also, if possible, try using DisplayPort instead of HDMI. My setup had issues with HDMI as well.

What monitor are you using and what laptop model? You might be hitting the bandwidth limits of your HDMI connection. For instance, HDMI 2.0 caps out at 240Hz for 1080p, which could be causing the problem if they’re not compatible.

I can't switch to 1080p at all! I have the AW2725QF and I'm using an Asus TUF A15 laptop with a 2.0b HDMI port.
