Why is my PC’s WiFi speed so much lower than other devices?

I'm having a strange issue with my computer's WiFi speed. While other devices on the same network show correct speeds (around 90-100 Mbps), my computer is stuck at around 10-15 Mbps on speed tests. When I download files, the speed hovers at about 1.8 MB/s, which feels capped since I should be getting around 12 MB/s. I've tried using different WiFi adapters, including a brand new one, and switched settings to 802.11 a/n/ac, but nothing worked. The router is just about 10 cm away from my desktop, which is a custom build and fairly new. I'm wondering if there's any secret setting in Windows that might be limiting my speed? Any ideas?

First off, make sure your WiFi adapter is recognized as the right type. If it's the built-in one, check if you’ve installed the proper drivers. Sometimes out-of-date drivers can really hamper performance. Also, if you have antennas that need to be installed, don't forget those!
