I'm in Australia and planning to build a high-end gaming PC with a focus on gaming and video editing. Specifically, I need about 8TB of storage for my large video files. My current setup is 8 years old, and while it functions, I only get to enjoy games like Battlefield, World of Tanks, Cyberpunk, Warzone, and Monster Hunter on low to medium settings. I'm hoping to save around $500 on my budget since everything seems really pricey. I want this setup to last at least another 8 years and am aiming for a more discreet look with no flashy lights since it's going into my bedroom. I'm considering buying from Mwave, but I'm open to suggestions on parts or stores that may have better deals. Also, should I be adding more cooling fans to this build? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Switching from the X870 to the B850 is a smart move! The B850 supports the dual M.2 slots which is great for your SSDs. Also, you could save a lot with your storage choices; hybrid drives might not be the best option for your use case. Instead, check lower-cost SSDs that still offer high performance. Trust me, there's no need to overspend here!
You can definitely save some cash by swapping out a few overpriced components. For instance, check out using the B850 motherboard instead of the X870—it's cheaper and still provides what you need without the extra features you'll hardly use. Also, consider changing your RAM to 32GB instead of 64GB. Most gaming and video editing tasks don’t need that much, and it can cut costs significantly. Here's a part list that can help you save up to $600!
Thanks for the tip! I appreciate the motherboard recommendation too.
Make sure you compare prices on that Australian PCPartPicker! It seems like you're overpaying on multiple items that might not really enhance your performance. Like your CPU cooler—an air cooler can do the job just as well without the risk of leaks from a liquid cooler. Also, it looks like your video card is on the higher side; there are options that might provide equivalent performance for less. I made a revised part list for you that should help keep everything under budget while still being powerful.
Got it! I wasn't aware of more budget-friendly coolers.
Awesome advice! Which SSD brands do you recommend?
