How to Transfer Large Personal Files from a Work Computer?

I need help with a situation where someone accidentally saved about 600GB of personal files from a social media shoot on their work computer. We're having a tough time transferring these files out. Neither Dropbox nor other cloud storage options will open on the computer, and we're running into an error when trying to copy files to an external hard drive. Any tips or solutions would be really appreciated since this content cost us a lot to produce!

Can you let us know what error message you’re seeing? It's not surprising that you'd have trouble accessing such large files through cloud services.

It might be a good idea for the person using the computer to talk to the IT department. They can help with copying the files, but just be aware that there could be some consequences for using a work computer for personal stuff.

Using an external drive could be tricky because of permissions. You might have to be a little old-fashioned here. Either go for a direct connection between two computers on the same network to share files or, if you’re up for it, remove the hard drive and connect it to another PC. Just keep in mind it will take a while to transfer all that data. One to two hours is a realistic estimate.
