Is it really better to build a gaming PC yourself?

I've heard a lot of opinions suggesting that it's more advantageous to build your own gaming PC rather than buying a prebuilt one. I'm looking for some feedback on my current build which I think is pretty high-end. Here's the link to my parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kCpQkf. I'd appreciate any advice on whether this is a smart choice for a high-end gaming PC. Thanks!

Nice setup! It seems great for 1440p or 4K. I have the same case you're using, and it really simplifies building and cable management!

Your build looks solid overall! Just a heads up, if you're gaming heavily, that 2TB M.2 might fill up fast. Consider upgrading or adding another SSD for game storage, especially if you play big titles.

You can definitely create a decent gaming machine for a lot less money. It's all about finding the right parts that give you performance without breaking the bank.

Challenge accepted! I can build something great for under a grand.

Looks good! Knowing the resolution of your monitor could help narrow down the suggestions. What are you aiming for in terms of display?

Your build isn't terrible, but you might want to rethink some components. For example, you've definitely overspent on the motherboard and the RAM. The 9800X3D is a bit overkill for most gaming scenarios, and reallocating that budget to a better GPU like the RTX 5080 could significantly enhance your performance.

Totally agree! You might want to keep an eye on those prices.

Not sure where you're finding a 5080 for that price.. in my area, it's at least 1500 bucks!
