Help! My 27-inch Monitor is Stuck at 1080p Resolution

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue where my 27-inch monitor is only showing a resolution of 1920 x 1080 in Windows 11 Pro. I'm using an RTX 3050 graphics card and connecting the monitor via HDMI. Has anyone else faced this problem or know how I can get Windows to recognize a higher resolution? I've already updated the graphics drivers and completed all Windows updates, but I can't seem to find a solution. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like a common issue! Just remember that unless you specifically bought a 4K or 1440 monitor, 1080p is often the standard resolution for 27-inch screens. Make sure to check your monitor's specs to see what it's actually capable of displaying.

Just a heads up, the physical size of a monitor doesn't dictate its resolution. You should double-check if your monitor can support a resolution higher than 1080p; some 27-inch models out there are locked at that.

If you're looking for better resolution, consider upgrading your monitor. The RTX 3050 will handle 1080p decently, but for anything higher, you might need a better graphics card as well!

Can you share the make and model of your monitor? That way we might have a better idea of its capabilities. A lot of 27-inch displays are indeed 1080p, especially if it’s an older model.
