Hey folks! I'm looking for some guidance on putting together a small form factor gaming PC that can handle 1440p gaming for me and my wife. My last build was during the GTX 1070/80 era, so I'm pretty behind on current tech. I'm flexible on whether I buy a pre-built or build it myself, but here are my main points:
- I mainly play World of Warcraft and want to enjoy it at near-max settings without overspending on unnecessary parts.
- Space is tight at home, so I'm aiming for a compact design.
- We're fans of RGB lighting, especially for a little flair that my wife would appreciate.
Thanks for your help!
P.S. I've decided on the Lian Li A3 case which has a wood front and glass side panel!

If you're looking at small builds, have you checked the Lian Li A3? It fits your needs well, but keep in mind, there’s a real price jump for those ultra-compact systems which require specialized ITX/SFX hardware. The A3 is a decent compromise without being too cramped!
Your old GTX 1070 would still handle WoW just fine, but if that’s not an option nowadays, any recent mid-tier GPU will get you good performance. Just a heads up, SFF PCs aren't drastically smaller than mid-towers; they'll fit in your space but aren't as tiny as they seem. And for some flair, you can grab LED strips without breaking the bank!
Haha, I was just using that 1070 as a reference point to show how out of the loop I am. Thanks for the LED tip!
Yeah, I love the aesthetic of the Lian Li A3! It’s definitely the vibe I'm going for.
