Why is my Dell computer’s internet usage stats so confusing?

Hey everyone! I've recently gotten a shocking notification from my internet provider stating that I've used 1TB of data this month. My family typically stays under 500GB, so this was a surprise. After looking into our devices, I discovered that my Dell computer apparently used 224.84 GB in just one day and close to 800 GB over six days. However, when I checked the detailed report on my computer, it claimed I only used about 3GB in one day, mostly due to Windows updates. Has anyone else encountered similar discrepancies with their Dell computers? What could be the issue? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you're using Windows 11, try going to Settings > Network and Internet. There’s a ‘usage’ option up top that might break down how much data each app is using.

I did check that, but it still doesn’t match the total usage. It says I used 224GB but only shows the highest program usage as 1.30GB.

I wonder if it might be an issue with broken data packets that are being discarded? That could potentially cause some weird reporting.
