Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to this, but I recently upgraded my internet to 1GB. However, I'm only seeing about 75 Mbps on my repeater according to the task manager. The real issue is that both Steam and Battle.net are only downloading games at around 10 Mbps. I've double-checked and there aren't any download restrictions in the apps. Is there a reason why it might be this slow? Do these platforms limit download speeds on their end?

You brought up a good point about upgrading. Using Wi-Fi instead of a cable could limit your speeds. Really, for gigabit speeds, you should use Ethernet. Maybe test your download speeds with other services to see if it's about those servers slowing you down. Also, make sure your setup can handle consistent speeds elsewhere.
Your download speeds might be lagging due to a combination of your hard drive speed and Wi-Fi use. While Steam and Battle.net might throttle a bit, my experience shows that using a wired connection gives way more speed. I regularly hit up to 900 Mbps on Steam with a fast SSD!
Are you mixing up bits and bytes here? Remember, there are 8 bits in a byte, so the speed your ISP quotes might be higher than what you're actually seeing in terms of megabytes per second. It's worth checking!
Have you considered your storage? If you're using a slow hard drive, it could be bottlenecking your download speeds. Upgrading to an M.2 SSD could dramatically improve write speeds and help you utilize your internet upgrades effectively.
