How Should I Approach My School Project Without Relying on AI?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to tackle my school project, especially since I've grown up during the AI era and I find myself unsure how to do it without its help. Is it acceptable to use Google for research? Should I try to complete the project entirely on my own? I'm especially lost on where to begin, so I'd appreciate any advice on how to start! Thanks in advance!

You might want to ask your teacher for some guidance on getting started, but I understand if that feels intimidating. Just remember, using resources like Google is fine as long as you’re doing the thinking yourself!

Searching for information is totally normal! Learning how to create effective search queries is an important skill, and checking documentation can really help. While LLMs are handy, they can sometimes give misleading info, especially if you're new to the subject. It might be better to do as much on your own as possible and use AI mainly as a resource guide.

Go ahead and Google things or use AI for explanations! It’s fine to ask why certain methods are preferred over others, but make sure you still engage in the project yourself and resist the urge to let AI do all the work.

I’d say it depends on what your project is about. If it’s something basic, like calculating areas, relying too much on AI might not help you learn. Try to focus on the project independently first.
