I'm using a Windows 10 Home Edition PC with a 2TB drive (HP Spectre X360 14-EA0023DX), and I'm having trouble playing my AVI files. Every software I've tried says they are either corrupted or unsupported. I looked up AVI converters, but they just seem to want to make copies of the files instead of letting me play or convert them to formats like MP4 or MOV. Any advice?

Have you tried using VLC Media Player? It's great for playing a wide range of file types, including AVI. It often handles issues with damaged files really well.
AVI is a container format, so it can vary a lot in terms of what codecs are inside the files. If VLC can't play it, figuring out the underlying audio/video codecs might be necessary. You could use tools like ffprobe from ffmpeg to analyze what's inside your AVI files.
If VLC isn’t working for you, check the tools option in VLC. Go to Tools > Preferences > Input/Codecs and set "Damaged or incomplete AVI file" to "Always Fix." That might help with playback.
Oh, I second this! It worked for me once when I had similar issues.
