Choosing a Cooler for My Ryzen 5 3600: Peerless Assassin or Arctic Cooler?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using the stock cooler for my Ryzen 5 3600, and I'm looking to upgrade to something better. I'm considering either the Peerless Assassin 12 SE or the Arctic Cooler 36. The Arctic one is tempting because it's more affordable, and I've heard the Peerless Assassin might be overkill for my needs. I'm open to any suggestions you might have!

I've got the Arctic Cooler 36 for my 7800X3D, and it's been fantastic! Super easy to install and it's really quiet, which is a plus.

I’d lean towards the Peerless Assassin if you can swing it. It's a better cooler and future-proof for upgrades. Plus, coolers that use the motherboard's backplate are more likely to fit future AM5 boards if you're thinking long-term!

Honestly, both coolers are top-notch for performance at a great price. The Peerless Assassin 120 is a bit of a game-changer since it competes well with the high-end Noctua coolers but at a fraction of the cost. Just pick whichever one you think looks better or is cheaper!

Your Ryzen 5 3600 is really easy to cool, so any decent single tower air cooler should suffice. Even something small will do the trick!

Exactly! You could even go with a really basic cooler like the Deepcool Ice Edge Mini FS V2, and it would still work fine.
