What Are the Best MDM Solutions for Our Setup?

I'm on the lookout for Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions since we don't currently have anything in place. Here are my specific requirements:

Operationally, I need robust remote management capabilities like remote wipe for devices, as well as the ability to lock or factory reset the devices. I also need app management for our cellular devices, and I'm open to any additional features that could be beneficial, even if they're not completely necessary.

In terms of devices, we manage around 300-350 cellular devices (mostly iPhones), about 350-400 laptops (mostly Windows), and a few iPads with no Android tablets in the mix.

Also, it's worth mentioning that we don't manage our own tenant, and we definitely don't want to use Intune.

Currently, I'm checking out Manage Engine since I'm familiar with their CRM and ticketing solutions, though I haven't touched their MDM offerings yet. I've used Soti for managing older WinCE devices a few years back and also had some experience with Airwatch about five years ago before everything moved to Intune. I know things have changed with Airwatch, but I'm not quite up to date on those changes. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Hexnode is a solid MDM solution, especially with ABM. I've been using it for two years with no issues, and it covers everything you need - remote wipe, lock, factory reset, and manages apps effectively.

If you're using Microsoft 365, I'd suggest going with Intune for iOS devices. It's pretty decent overall for management, but I get that's not an option for you. You might want to check out something else.

For an Apple-centric setup, consider Mosyle. We found that any changes pushed take effect almost instantly, way better than Intune’s hit-or-miss timing.

You should definitely take a look at ScalefusionMDM. It works well for both iOS and Windows, and covers all your main requirements including remote wipe and app management. Plus, setting it up is a breeze and their support team is really responsive! Maybe get a demo of that one.

Yeah, I’ve heard good things about Scalefusion too! It might be exactly what you're looking for.

With most of your devices being iPhones, JAMF seems like a top choice. Pairing it with Apple Business Manager (ABM) could streamline things nicely. For your Windows devices, maybe look into RMM solutions used by MSPs, like NinjaOne.
