I'm looking for a stable Linux distribution that works well with my setup and doesn't freeze like my PC does now. I used to game and produce music on Windows without any issues, but I've had problems with my system locking up since switching to Linux. I've tried several distros, including Nobara, Fedora, Ubuntu, Endeavouros, and Bazzite. My hardware specs are as follows: an Intel i7 9700K CPU running at 4.7GHz, 48GB of DDR4 RAM, an AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB GPU, along with two monitors (one at 1920x1080 144Hz, the other 1680x1050 60Hz). Additionally, I have a 250GB M.2 SSD, a 500GB SATA SSD, and a 4TB HDD. The main software I use includes games like Final Fantasy 14, Minecraft, and Grand Theft Auto, as well as music production software like Fruity Loops Studio. Any help would be appreciated!

If you still want to switch distros for a fresh start, consider Arch Linux; it has the latest kernels and drivers, which could solve your freezing issues. Make sure to manage your system resources properly though; if you're maxing out your CPU or RAM, that could lead to crashes. That said, if you’re new to Linux, you might want to avoid Arch for now since it can be a handful.
For gaming and music production, I'd recommend trying an Ubuntu-based distro with KDE. It offers good stability and compatibility with most software. Just a heads up, Frooty Loops and GTA Online have issues on Linux due to anti-cheat restrictions, but other programs should run smoothly. For music production, you might want to check out alternatives like Reaper or Bitwig Studio, which are pretty solid as well.
Honestly, if you've already tried several popular distributions without luck, the freezing might be hardware-related rather than software-based. I suggest you dig into troubleshooting; perhaps checking your BIOS settings or testing your RAM with Memtest 86+ could help. Sometimes doing a BIOS reflash can fix random stability issues too. You have a pretty robust setup, and it should run fine on Linux once sorted out!
