What GPU Should I Upgrade To?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using an RX 5500 XT and it's time to upgrade my GPU since my Oblivion remake has been crashing like crazy after I exit the sewers. I usually upgrade and stick with my setup for about 4–5 years before it feels outdated. I'm also planning to upgrade from an i3-10105F and 16GB DDR4 RAM to a Ryzen 5 7600 with 32GB of DDR5 sticks. I'm looking for recommendations on GPUs, keeping my budget between 300-400€ in Croatia. I'm considering an RTX 4060 since it's around 340€, but I've also looked at the RX 7700 XT, which starts around 460€. I'll be gaming at 1080p, so what do you think?

I'd suggest going with the RX 7700 XT. It outperforms the 4060 and has 12GB of VRAM, which is a plus for future-proofing your games. If you plan to stick with 1080p gaming, the 4060 could save you some cash, but I think the 7700 XT gives you more bang for your buck in the long run.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. The 7700 XT definitely offers better performance, especially if you're thinking of playing anything more demanding in the future.

For what it’s worth, the RX 7700 XT is pretty close in performance to a 4070. I’d skip the 4060 if I were you—it's not worth it compared to the power of the 7700 XT, especially since you’re planning to game at high settings.

Just a thought: you might want to focus on the GPU upgrade first, as it seems to be your main bottleneck right now. Your i3 will hold you back, but a new GPU will give you a noticeable upgrade immediately. I'd lean toward getting the RX 7700 XT.

Great advice! As tempting as it is to upgrade both, starting with the GPU makes a lot of sense.

The 5060 Ti could be a solid choice if you're considering NVIDIA. I mean, I grabbed one for around 449€, and it really performs well at 1080p. Plus, having 16GB of VRAM will help with any intensive mods or high-res textures you throw at it later on.

Sure, but at that price point, it seems like the 7700 XT could give you much better performance for gaming overall.
