Is My AMD GPU and Intel CPU Setup Good for 1080p Gaming?

I'm considering pairing an AMD 7600XT GPU with an Intel i5 12400F CPU for gaming at 1080p. My main goal is to run Monster Hunter Wilds at high settings with at least 70 fps. I've updated my PCPartPicker list, but I realized I actually meant to reference the Ryzen 5 7500F. I'm also wondering if my power supply will be sufficient and if I can find better DDR5 RAM for a decent price.

Just a heads up, the RX7600 doesn't score high FPS, and the 7600XT might not be a huge upgrade either. You could always check out YouTube benchmarks for a clearer picture. Also, I’d recommend the Intel B580 for about $250-$300 if you're considering other options.

Yeah, but the 7600XT should ideally perform better since it has more VRAM. Monster Hunter can be demanding with textures.

Your CPU will either get you to 70 fps or it won't, but the choice of GPU isn't going to change that significantly. Just make sure your settings are balanced so you don’t get bottlenecked at higher resolutions.

Exactly! Depending on the game settings, you might hit GPU bottlenecks, but for 1080p, you should be fine.

If you haven’t assembled it yet, consider going for the AM5 platform instead. A B650M board with a Ryzen 7500F and a dual 16GB RAM kit could cost just a bit over $300, and it offers better future upgrade options. Plus, the 7600XT works well with the 12400F. Don’t worry too much about the so-called bottlenecking; the 12400F can work fine with high-end GPUs.

At 1080p in Monster Hunter Wilds, you shouldn’t face a CPU bottleneck, though it might happen in other games. Your combo should achieve high settings with about 70 fps, but probably not ultra settings. Still, you’re not overdoing it for AAA titles, which is somewhat discouraging to say the least.

You absolutely don’t need a 7800XT for 1080p. The 7600XT is more than enough for smooth gameplay without any bottleneck issues for the games you mentioned.

Oh, right! I actually meant the 7600XT, not the 7800.
