I'm trying to set up a camera in my Seat Leon that requires a Type C connection for power. There's a media cable (or MDI) in my glove box that provides a free USB port, but when I use a standard USB cable, it attempts to connect the camera to the car's system and disables the camera and its recording functions. I was thinking that maybe a cable designed only for power or charging would work, but do such cables actually exist?

Just a heads up, though—some car USB ports can be limited to 0.5A, which might not be enough for certain dash cams. Like, I've seen my Viofo A113 V3 not work when plugged into my Golf 7's USB port. Also, if the camera requires more than 5V, it won't operate properly either.
Yes, charging-only cables definitely exist! They can be handy for situations like yours where you just want to provide power without any data transfer.
For sure, you can use a charge-only cable or something called a USB condom. They essentially block data while allowing power through.
A USB condom? What's that exactly?
