Why is My Gaming Performance Decreasing Even After Upgrades?

Hey everyone! I've recently returned to gaming after a four-month break, and I've noticed that my performance has taken a hit. I've done a lot of troubleshooting already, including updating my BIOS and graphics drivers, making sure my RAM is at the right speed, and performing various optimizations on Windows. I've even scanned for malware using tools like Kaspersky and Malwarebytes. I'm really puzzling over this issue. My gaming rig is around five years old, and while I did upgrade my RAM, I'm worried that my hardware might just be outdated. My gaming temperatures seem fine: my CPU is running around 60–65°C at 40–45% usage, and my GPU is at 50–60°C with 35–45% usage. Before the break, I used to get around 100 FPS on low settings in Hunt: Showdown, but now it's dropped to about 60–70 FPS. I've noticed similar drops in Rust as well. Here are my specs:
- GTX 1660 Super Ventus OC
- Ryzen 5 2600x
- 32GB DDR4 RAM at 2666MHz
- All games are installed on an SSD.
Any thoughts on what's causing the dip in performance?

What kind of SSD are you using for your games? The speed of the SSD can also impact performance, especially in games that load a lot of data. If it’s a Samsung 1TB 870 EVO, that should be pretty good, but double-check to make sure there’s no issue with it.

I believe it is a Samsung 1TB 870 EVO, so it should be decent. I just hope there aren't any hidden performance issues.

It sounds like you might be facing a CPU bottleneck with your GPU and potentially slower RAM. If you're not planning to build a new PC soon, I recommend considering an upgrade to a Ryzen 5 5600 or 5600X. If you notice stuttering after that, then it might be a RAM issue. Good luck!

Yeah, I'm thinking about replacing my CPU, GPU, and RAM eventually. I just want to get the most out of my current setup until I really need to upgrade.
