I'm currently using a GTX 1070 and I'm looking to upgrade my gaming setup. I've found three options in my country: an RTX 5070 for $800, a refurbished RX 7900XT for $825 in perfect condition, and an RX 9700 for $925. I'm mainly using my PC for gaming and development, and my monitor supports 1080p at 144Hz. I've never used ray tracing (RT) or DLSS, but I'm curious about them. Which card do you think would be the best choice for my needs? I inadvertently typed RX 9070 in the title instead of RX 9700. Any suggestions?

Wait, are these Canadian prices? Because from what you're saying, it seems a bit high. If those prices are accurate in your area, I'd say the 5070 at $800 is a reasonable choice if you're focused on 1080p gaming at high refresh rates.
Yeah, I'm from Uruguay, and those are the best prices I could find for these cards. Based on what you're saying, which one would you pick at those prices?
I'd definitely go with the 7900XT. It's known for its strong rasterization performance, making it a great choice for most games at 1080p. Plus, since it's refurbished but in perfect condition, you should be getting solid performance for your money!
While the 7900XT is great for traditional performance, keep in mind that if you activate DLSS and RT features, the RTX 5070 might pull ahead. But if you're mainly gaming without these features, the 7900XT could be your best bet.
I've also heard the 5070 performs well in those situations. It might be worth considering if you're looking for future-proofing with RT.
