I'm planning to get a 9800X3D CPU and a 7900 XTX GPU, but I'm not sure what motherboard to choose. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I'd recommend looking for any X850 board, but steer clear of Asrock. I've heard reports of them frying both the 7800X3D and 9800X3D chips, which is definitely something to watch out for.
From what I've seen at my shop, a lot of customers are having stability issues with the 7800X3D and 9800X3D CPUs. Gigabyte motherboards seem to work the best with those chips. I haven't come across any Intel issues recently either, so that's promising for you.
Yeah, I have a 7800X3D with a Gigabyte motherboard and it's been rock solid for me. No complaints at all!
If you're getting new hardware, consider pairing the 9800X3D with a 9070XT. It'll give you similar performance but with better power efficiency, which is a nice bonus!
