Help Me Choose Between AMD and Intel for My New Gaming PC

Hey everyone! I'm putting together a new PC and I'm stuck between two options: the MSI MEG Z890 UNIFY-X motherboard with the Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF CPU or the ASRock X870E Phantom Gaming Nova WiFi motherboard paired with the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X. I'll also be using an XFX MERC 310 AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Black graphics card, along with 64GB (2x32GB) of Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 5600MHz RAM and a ASUS TUF Gaming 1000W Gold power supply. I've already got the chassis, cooler, and other parts. My main goal is gaming—I want to play newer titles like Battlefield 6, as well as heavier older games like Space Marine 2 and Cyberpunk 2077. I'm also considering future upgrade options. Any thoughts or alternative recommendations would be appreciated, as long as they're in a similar price range! Thanks in advance!

Focus on getting a solid CPU rather than a pricey motherboard. Something like the Ryzen 7 5800X or Ryzen 9 5900X would give you better performance than the ones you're considering. A good balance between quality and price can make a huge difference!

Honestly, neither of those options are the best for gaming. If you're going with AMD, consider a Ryzen 7 or even a Ryzen 7000 series chip instead. For Intel, the 13th-gen CPUs are much better, especially for gaming. You can check out a recommended build on sites like PCPartPicker to fit your needs better.

I wouldn't recommend the Intel Core Ultra CPUs for gaming—they’re not as strong as you might think, especially compared to AMD. If you find a good deal on the AMD setup, it might be the better choice overall. Plus, they're future-proofing better with upcoming games.
