I found a new i9-12900k for $230 USD, and I'm currently using an Intel i5-12600k. I'm wondering if upgrading to the i9 would be a good decision for my setup. Here are my specs: CPU - Intel i5-12600k, Cooler - Noctua NH-U12S Redux, Motherboard - ASUS PRIME H610M-E D4, RAM - 32GB DDR4 3200, GPU - EVGA 3080 FTW3, PSU - EVGA 750W. Any thoughts on this upgrade?

It really depends on your reasons for upgrading. If you're mostly interested in future-proofing your setup, then it could be a good move, especially at that price.

That's mainly why I'm considering it—want to keep my system relevant for a while!

Honestly, if gaming is your primary focus, I don't think it's worth it. The i5-12600k should handle most games perfectly fine. But if you do a lot of heavy tasks like video editing or rendering, the upgrade might make sense.
