I'm looking to solve a performance issue in my gaming setup. Recently, I upgraded to an RX 6800XT GPU, but I've noticed I'm getting worse performance in some games like Cyberpunk 2077 compared to my previous RX 5700XT. It seems like my GPU isn't being fully utilized since it's only reaching about 50-60% usage. Currently, I'm using a Ryzen 5 5500 CPU and gaming on a 1080p monitor. I'm wondering if switching to a Ryzen 5 5600X would alleviate this bottleneck, or if I should consider a more powerful CPU like the Ryzen 7 5800X—or even upgrading to a 1440p monitor. Upgrading to a 1440p monitor is something I plan to do but for now, I'm mainly focused on whether the CPU upgrade is a viable option since it would cost about 30 euros. Thanks for any insights!

The Ryzen 5 5500 has less L3 cache compared to the 5600X, which may explain some of the performance issues you're seeing. Upgrading to the 5600X should give you a noticeable improvement in gaming, especially in CPU-intensive titles. While the Ryzen 7 5800X has extra cores, most games won’t benefit from that. The 5600X seems to be the better choice for your situation if you're looking for a budget-friendly upgrade. Plus, it's a simple swap!

That makes sense! I think I'll go for the 5600X then since it's an affordable upgrade. Can't be worse than my current setup, right? Thanks!
