I'm on the hunt for a reliable Mini-ITX motherboard to pair with my Ryzen 9 9950X. I'm particularly focused on finding one that is known for great thermal efficiency and verified support for 128GB of RAM. I'm steering clear of ASUS due to their high prices and have heard some concerns about ASRock damaging the CPU. I'm not interested in extra features like WiFi or a ton of USB ports; just one M.2 slot will do. I'd appreciate any recommendations you might have, thanks!

Happy cake day! You might want to consider the GIGABYTE B650I AX. I've seen it recommended a lot and it fits the criteria you're looking for!
I've heard good things about MSI motherboards. In general, almost any board should work, but for sanity's sake, I'd suggest going for a B650 or B850 motherboard. Just check the QVL list for 128GB RAM compatibility and grab RAM from that list for the best chance of it working out smoothly.
Just a heads up, if you're looking at MSI, make sure to check those prices! Over here in Canada, MSI ITX boards can go for around 300 CAD, while ASUS boards start at 500 CAD and can even hit 800 CAD. That said, MSI really offers a competitive range, especially with their features.
