Help! My MacBook Air is Experiencing Multiple Issues

I'm having several frustrating problems with my MacBook Air that I've already tried to fix by restarting it multiple times. Here's a quick rundown of the issues I'm facing:
* The brightness and keyboard buttons aren't working, and I can't even find the brightness slider in the settings.
* After restarting, I sometimes end up with a black screen showing only my mouse pointer, and I've had to restart twice just to get it to normal again.
* When I do a Google search, I see flashes of text in the top left corner.
* I also notice a pink screen flash after restarting occasionally.
* The audio doesn't always work properly.
* Browsing the web gives me the dreaded "beach ball" cursor at times.
* When I click on an icon, it should turn dark to indicate it's been clicked, but now the back button icon stays dark.
* Oddly, the play and pause buttons have switched in YouTube, and I've noticed the same issue on my iPhone.
* Recently, the audio has randomly stopped working as well.

I should mention that I have a Juaupepo cover on it, which I'm aware can sometimes cause issues, but it's rated well and has vents for airflow. I'm not considering returning the laptop, and I don't have AppleCare. Is there any way to fix these issues?

Before taking it in, try resetting the NVRAM and SMC. Sometimes, these resets can fix odd behavior. Here's how you do it:
1. To reset NVRAM, restart your Mac and hold down Option + Command + P + R for about 20 seconds.
2. To reset the SMC, shut down your Mac, then hold Shift + Control + Option + Power for about 10 seconds.
Hopefully, this helps!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll give it a shot and see if it helps with the audio issues.

It sounds like your MacBook is experiencing some serious hardware issues. Unfortunately, without AppleCare, your best bet might be to take it to an Apple store for diagnostics and repair. They can check if there’s a deeper issue. What year and model is it exactly?

I didn't think service would be the only option! Isn't there anything I could do at home?
