Why can’t I ping Google.com but not 8.8.8.8 on Ethernet?

I'm having a strange issue with my Ethernet connection on Windows 11. I can see a data usage number in the settings, and I've tried two different cables, both with lights flashing on the motherboard. I recently updated my drivers, and I even ordered a PCI Ethernet card to hopefully fix the problem. However, I'm wondering if there might be something else going on. Could anyone help or ask any essential questions to clarify? Thanks!

Are you saying that you can successfully ping google.com but not 8.8.8.8? It sounds like you're having a connectivity issue. What are the results when you try to ping those addresses? Getting specific details might help narrow it down.

Just to clarify, if you're able to ping google.com but not 8.8.8.8, it could be that the problem lies within your internet service provider or configuration settings. Have you checked to see if you have a proper connection despite what your computer says? Sometimes the connection might show as active, but there could still be underlying issues.
