I'm looking to upgrade from my current RTX 3050 and was initially planning to go for the 4070 because of its solid RTX performance. However, I've also found the 5070 at a slightly lower price, around 590€ compared to the 4070's 620€. Given that both options have 12GB of VRAM and are from the same brand (Gigabyte Windforce), I'm torn. Should I stick with the 4070 or go for the 5070? Is there a significant performance difference that I should consider? Also, if there are better options available under 650€, I'm open to suggestions!

Performance-wise, the 5070 is almost on par with the 4070 Super, so it’s definitely worth considering as your next upgrade. Given the price difference, I say go for the 5070. It really stands out as the better deal.
The 5070 is actually the smarter choice here because it's a newer model compared to the 4070, which isn't manufactured anymore. You'll get comparable or even better performance with it, making it a better value for your money.
You might even want to check out the $550 9070, which outperforms the 4070 in ray tracing and has more VRAM, but keep in mind that it usually retails around 660€, which is above your budget. Just something to think about if you're stretching for performance!
