Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on how to upgrade my PC for more consistent FPS in my games. Although I manage decent frames right now, I'd love to see fewer frame drops. Here are my current specs:
- OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Home
- CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13400F
- RAM: 16.0 GB
- Storage: 931.5 GB SSD
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
Any recommendations on upgrades would be greatly appreciated!

First off, it would be helpful to know your budget! If you really want to boost your FPS, consider upgrading your GPU and RAM. I've seen setups with your CPU paired with a 4090, which is a beast! For a more affordable option, look for a used 4070 Ti, 4080, or 7800 XT that fits your budget. If you don’t mind new cards, check out the 5070/Ti or 9070 XT.
Also, if you're gaming at 1440p, you need to put more load on the GPU. Your current setup shouldn't have too many bottlenecks. As for RAM, consider selling the 16GB you have and upgrading to 32GB at 3600MHz CL16; that should keep you solid for a few years!

I don’t really have a budget set at the moment. Could you give me examples of what you'd consider midrange and high-end upgrades? I thought my GPU was decent for my first build, but I’m learning! Thanks for the tip!
