I'm having a serious issue with my computer's disk usage hitting 100% since I updated a game on Steam two evenings ago. It slowed down significantly, and even opening basic settings makes the disk usage spike. I tried decreasing game quality settings, running a clean boot, and physically checking my SSD, but nothing seems to help. My PC has been reliable until now, and I'm really puzzled. Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Asus B660M Pro RS
- SSD: Kingston NV2 1000GB M.2 NVMe
- CPU: Intel i5-12600KF
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT
- RAM: Teamgroup T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 32GB (2x16GB)
If any additional info is needed, let me know! Thanks in advance for any assistance. 🙏

I checked CrystalDiskInfo, and it showed some critical warnings, which seems serious. I've ordered a new 2TB hard drive to back everything up, and I'm not touching my PC until I do.
I'm thinking about getting an HDD as a backup plan. At least I could transfer my data from the SSD if I need to replace it.
How much free space do you have left on your SSD? Sometimes low space can cause issues like this too.
Have you tried checking the disk health with CrystalDiskInfo? It can give you a clear picture of what's going on with your SSD.
Not yet! Opening a browser is a real challenge right now, but I'll check it out if it helps!
I've used about 2/3 of the space, but I'll double-check that when I'm back from class.
