I'm building my first PC and I'm a bit lost on the RAM selection. I'm considering getting the G.Skill Trident 6800MT CL34 96GB sticks, but I've heard warnings about compatibility, especially with X3D CPUs. Apparently, they can be sensitive to memory and adding larger 48GB sticks might cause instability, potentially defaulting to lower speeds. My build so far includes an ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi motherboard, a CORSAIR RW1000X power supply, a Gigabyte RX 9070 XT AORUS ELITE GPU, an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, 96GB of CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 RAM at 6400MHz, and an ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 420 cooler along with additional case fans. What do you think about my RAM choice, and is there anything else I should consider?

Honestly, that motherboard is pretty pricey for a first build. Unless you're absolutely set on high-end aesthetics or future-proofing, you might want to think about a more budget-friendly option. Just my two cents!
I’d steer clear of DDR5 6400 for your CPU. It'll likely default the memory controller to half speed, which won't help your performance. Instead, try DDR5 6000 CL30 sticks. It’ll keep the UCLK at 3000MHz and FCLK at 2000MHz, which should help a lot. By the way, unless you're into heavy workloads like 3D rendering, 96GB of RAM is overkill! 16GB or 32GB is usually more than enough for gaming.
Thanks for the tips! What RAM would you suggest instead?
What exactly are you planning to use this PC for? It sounds like you're aiming for high performance, which is great, but that RAM choice seems excessive unless you're focused on niche tasks. If gaming is your main goal, you might not need such high specs.
Mainly gaming, but I might use it for work in the future.

I get that! Just trying to make sure my GPU runs well, but I see your point about budgeting.
