I'm currently using a 9800x3d processor paired with an RTX 3080 10GB, and my monitor runs at 5120x1440 with a refresh rate of 144Hz. Overall, my setup works well, though I have to dial down some graphics settings. I'm considering upgrading to an RTX 5080 and wondering if I would see a significant performance boost. Alternatively, should I wait for the next-gen graphics cards or the Super versions?

I get the feeling you might be subtly showing off what you have! But seriously, the RTX 5080 will definitely improve your gaming experience. Just think about what games you want to play—if you're into AAA titles, the upgrade would definitely help! If all you're playing is something like Stardew Valley, though, you’re probably fine sticking with what you've got.
Upgrading to the RTX 5080 will definitely allow you to run max settings at 1440p without breaking a sweat, so I'd say go for it if you're looking for better graphics!

No worries, that’s a valid concern! I had a similar eye-opener with my last CPU, too. The 5080 should offer some nice gains, especially since you’re running a unique resolution that’s sort of in between 1440p and 4K.
