Why Can’t My Windows PC Detect My Second SSD?

I'm having trouble with my second SSD. My motherboard recognizes it, but Windows isn't showing it anywhere. I've checked in Disk Management, and it just doesn't appear there at all. For context, I have two SATA drives and one NVMe drive, but only one SATA and the NVMe are visible. Any ideas on how to get this resolved?

It sounds frustrating! Are you using storage pools or storage spaces by any chance? That's something you might want to check because it can cause issues like this if you're not set up for it.

When you say the motherboard sees it, does that mean you can find it listed in Device Manager? Just trying to clarify how it's being recognized there.

If the drives appear in the BIOS but not in Windows, you might want to check if they're formatted and assigned a drive letter. Sometimes, brand new SSDs need to be initialized before they're usable.
