I'm trying to figure out the best approach for building an all-AMD setup for my Linux gaming needs. I currently have an Intel 4790k and an RX 6600XT that transitioned smoothly to Linux, but I've had a rough time with my Nvidia Optimus laptop. With the recent launch of the 9000 series Radeon cards, I've heard from some users about various bugs, which makes me hesitant. Should I stick to older models like the 7000 series instead? I mostly game at 1080p but want to ensure my rig can handle 4K if I plug it into a higher resolution monitor. Also, I'm using Nobara, so any advice on ensuring compatibility with my current setup would be appreciated! Are there any resources for checking hardware compatibility with Linux?

If you're set on all-AMD, I'd recommend aiming for the 9000 series. They work well with the 6.14 kernel or newer, which brings some improvements. Just keep an eye on updates since some users have had issues. But honestly, they should perform pretty decent for your needs.

Is that the only thing to watch out for? I read the AI features are nice, but they don't seem to compete with Nvidia. I'm not too worried about DLSS either. Just considering if sticking with the 7000 series might be a safer option.
