Trouble with File Explorer and Black Screen After Installing CorelDraw

My mom recently installed the CorelDraw free trial on her laptop, and now we're facing a bunch of issues. After she logged in, she initially encountered a black screen with just the cursor, which I managed to fix by uninstalling the latest quality updates. However, now when I try to open File Explorer, the taskbar disappears, the screen goes black for a few seconds, and then it comes back, but it takes some time for the taskbar to reappear. The Control Panel also won't open, so I can't check the reliability history to dig deeper into the problems. This situation seems similar to a LiveKernelEvent issue. Task Manager isn't showing anything unusual, and I can still open Settings and Chrome. I really want to avoid reinstalling Windows, but I'm considering it if necessary.

Here's a summary of what I've done to troubleshoot so far:
- Scanned with Malwarebytes (found nothing)
- Uninstalled all components of CorelDraw
- Scanned with Malwarebytes again (still nothing)
- Updated all drivers
- Installed all Windows updates
- Uninstalled the latest quality updates through safe mode
- Another Malwarebytes scan (again, nothing)

The laptop specs are:
- HP 17 Series
- AMD Ryzen 3 3200U with Ryzen Vega Graphics
- AMD Vega 3 Graphics
- 16 GB RAM

My mom has a unique gift for causing chaos with her devices, and this is the first time I'm really stumped. Thanks in advance for any help!

You might want to create another admin user to check if the same problem persists. Also, running an in-place Windows repair using Command Prompt commands like `sfc /scannow` and DISM could help fix any potential system issues. It’s worth a shot!

Thanks for the tips! I actually tried creating another admin account, but I ran into the same issue. I ran `sfc /scannow` and it found and fixed some corrupted files, but after checking again, it said there were no integrity issues. Still facing the black screen, though.

When you're making changes to system settings or the BIOS, there's always a risk of losing data. Make sure you have backups of your important files before proceeding with any major changes. Just a word of caution!
