I'm building a new PC from the ground up specifically for gaming. I plan to play titles like CS2, The Finals, Arc Raiders, and possibly Battlefield 6, all at 1440p resolution. I'm considering whether to save $150 to upgrade my display or invest in better RAM instead. Currently, I have one stick of ADATA XPG LANCER 6000MHz 16GB with timings of 36-38-38, and I've heard that the 7800X3D wouldn't be able to fully utilize the 6000MHz RAM. I'm pairing my CPU with a PowerColor 9070 XT Hellhound OC GPU. My main concern is the longevity of the CPU, considering my last build struggled after just six months. My primary focus is gaming, but I might also do some coding. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I think the RAM looks good, and if you're focused on gaming, I'd lean toward the 7800X3D. It offers great performance, especially for the games you've mentioned. I have a 9800X3D, and it really excels in those scenarios! But since you only have one stick of RAM, you might want to consider going with the 9600X and upgrading to 32GB with two sticks instead. That setup could definitely help down the line!
All CPUs will benefit from faster RAM like your 6000MHz, and with games like CS2 and Battlefield, the 7800X3D is definitely the way to go. It should give you optimal performance. Just keep in mind that gaming with a single stick might limit performance a bit compared to a dual-channel setup.
Do you think adding a second stick later would make a huge difference when using the 9600X, versus the 7800X3D with only one stick?
Have you considered the 9700X? It sits around 270-280$, and I've read it can outperform the 7800X3D at 1440p if you optimize it right. That could be a solid compromise!
What CPU were you using that gave you so many issues after such a short time?
I tried to save some cash with an RTX 2060 and a Ryzen 5 3600, but by the time I got them, games were becoming much harder to run, which led to a frustrating experience. This time, I'm aiming for a build that lasts!

I don't have a Microcenter nearby, just my luck!
