Is the GeForce RTX 5060 a Good Upgrade for Casual Gaming?

I'm planning a small upgrade for my mom's office computer so she can join me in gaming while I'm at college. Right now, she's using an Intel UHD 630, and I'm considering a GeForce RTX 5060 as a mid-tier option. My aim is to find something affordable that can handle games like Stardew Valley and other mid-quality titles. Is the RTX 5060 a reasonable choice, or should I explore other options?

Honestly, I’d suggest checking out a used RX 6600. It should fit your needs without breaking the bank, and it can handle casual games really well.

I wouldn’t go for the RTX 5060. If you’re considering new GPUs, the 9060 XT 16GB might be the entry point you want, but remember that you don’t need 16GB just for Stardew Valley. Make sure whatever card you pick is compatible with your PSU first!

You might want to consider the RX 9060 XT 8GB instead; it's usually cheaper and still decent for modern gaming. Just keep an eye on your power supply unit (PSU) since you need it to meet the power requirements for whichever card you choose. If the PSU is weak or lacks an 8-pin connector, the older RTX 3050 6GB could be your best bet as a compatible option.
