Which GPU Should I Pair With a Ryzen 7 9850X3D on a £500 Budget?

I'm planning a new PC build around a Ryzen 7 9850X3D, but I'll only have about £500 left for the graphics card. What GPU would make the most sense at that price? I'm also wondering whether it would be smarter to choose a Ryzen 7 9800X3D instead, save some money, and put the difference toward a better GPU. Is the performance gap between the two processors large enough to justify the extra cost?

For a gaming-focused build, I’d put more of the budget toward the GPU. The 9850X3D is only a little faster than the 9800X3D in most games, so the price premium usually isn’t worthwhile. Depending on local prices, a Ryzen 7 9700X, 9800X3D, or 7800X3D paired with an RX 9070 XT could offer better overall performance.

At 1080p, a less expensive graphics card can make sense, especially if you mainly play competitive games. However, for higher settings, newer demanding games, or 1440p, the GPU will usually be the limiting component. Compare the prices of an RX 9060, RX 9070, and RX 9070 XT, then choose the best card you can afford after selecting a sensible CPU.
