I currently have an XLR8 8GB RAM stick in my system and just picked up a Corsair Vengeance 16GB stick. I'm curious if both can work together smoothly in my computer or if I should just stick with the 8GB. Both RAM sticks are DDR4, so I'm hoping for some advice on compatibility!

Why not just try it and see what happens? Just be cautious about any system instability or performance drops. Sometimes it works out!
Check the speeds of both sticks first! If they match (like both being around 2133 to 3600 MHz), they should work together fine. But, if they're different speeds, you could be missing out on some memory capabilities. Honestly, if they're mismatched, you might be better off just using the 16GB by itself.
Mixing different RAM can be tricky. You might run into several potential issues such as different brands or capacities, which could lead to stability problems. It's often recommended to use a single kit with all identical modules rather than mixing. If you really need more memory, just replace the old stick with the larger one and avoid hassles.
It's not the best idea to mix them. If you’ve got more than two slots open, try putting them in different slots to see if you get better performance.
You'd definitely want the 16GB in there! Having more RAM is usually better for performance, especially for tasks that need more memory. Just make sure they’re similar speeds, otherwise, you might run into issues.

Also, don't forget to check that you’re using the right slots for dual-channel mode if you're installing multiple sticks!
