Experiencing Issues with Dell WD22TB4 Docking Stations?

Has anyone else out there been having trouble with the Dell WD22TB4 docking stations? We've got a large number of these docks, and it seems like around 40% of our users—approximately 200 to 250 docks—are reporting similar issues. We keep all firmware and drivers fully up to date using Dell Command Update, but that doesn't seem to help. Frequently, the docks won't power on, and the only solution we have is to tell users to unplug the dock, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. This is particularly the case when paired with Dell Latitude 5550 laptops. I'm curious if others are facing the same frustrations or if there are any tips to resolve this.

Have you checked the power settings for the ports you’re using? Sometimes tweaking those can make a difference.

Our company has a lot of these docks paired with the 55XX series laptops too. While I haven't managed them directly, I've noticed they can be quite temperamental when it comes to dock drivers. There are certain driver versions that seem to work flawlessly, and then after an update, everything goes awry again. Maybe consider using a specific driver version instead of always updating to the latest?

Has anyone else seen this happen? I wouldn't be surprised if it had to do with the newer power management features.

We've been facing similar issues with the WD22TB4 docks ever since Dell switched to USB-C. A commonly suggested workaround is to unplug the power source, drain any residual power, and then redock the device. It seems to help quite a bit but is definitely a hassle. So many docks have experienced this since the change.

This is my first time using Dell docks, and honestly, I'm starting to regret the choice.

Yeah, this is the first troubleshooting step we guide our users through too. It does seem to resolve the problem most of the time.
